Marcela Sanhueza
BRANDING / NAMING
From a humble family-owned restaurant to specialized culinary equipment.
Project realized in conjunction with nōn – Design Studio.
‘Marcela Sanhueza’ is a self-titled brand of the Temuco native from the south of Chile. Previously, she was the owner of a well-known restaurant in the central market of the city which was destroyed by the 2016 fire. After losing her business, she decided to dive into the world of gastronomic equipment. She came to us with a single idea: acquire a name and a brand. After conducting research, we reached a conclusion: she herself was a famous name known by many of the people in the city. This is why we kept her name for the project itself, in order to maintain the positioning that she already possessed.
We were made responsible for the creation of a logo and its application on folders, business cards, bags and other typical elements.

Signature

Throughout the logo creation process, we found ourselves trying to make a logo using hand-drawn strokes, even approaching a monogram or signature. What we didn’t notice was that the client’s own signature would work perfectly as a logo, as it was readable and had a very interesting shape. We created the logo based on her signature, along with some visual corrections.
